On November 8, 2022, the Minister of Tourism, Mr. Dangui Oduber, announced the start of the beautification project of the anchor located in Cas Ariba.

In 1996, the Varis family placed the anchor in that particular location, \one of the most trafficked areas by tourists who visit the Arikok National Park.

That is why its beautification is in place since it has the potential to become an iconic landmark where visitors can stop and take pictures and share this on social media.

The first phase of this project will be the relocation of the anchor, a 1-meter-high pedestal to put the anchor on, and a completely new paint job in the color gold. This way, the anchor is visible from a distance. The first phase will also include a small plaza for visitors.

The project itself has already started and is scheduled to be completed in two weeks.

The Aruba Tourism Authority and the Tourism Product Enhancement Fund (TPEF) financed this project.
