AHATA: January’s occupancy was 67% lower than a year ago

The Aruba Hotel & Tourism Association (AHATA) has published the latest hotel performance data reporting that in January 2021 the occupancy decreased compared to December and was 67% lower than a year ago.

January 2021

  • Occupancy: The occupancy rate was 25%, down from a 35% occupancy in December. January’s occupancy was 67.4% lower than the occupancy a year ago.
  • ADR: The average daily rate (for occupied rooms) decreased by 20% compared to last year, to $297.45.
  • RevPAR: The revenue per available room dropped by 74% to $96.39.

AHATA’s Timeshare properties experienced a 57% occupancy rate in January and expects the same occupancy rate of 57% for February 2021.
