On November 16, 2022, welcomed another Mega Cruise ship in the ports of Aruba. In this case, Harmony of the Seas of the Royal Caribbean Cruise lines made its first call in Aruba.

It was a busy day with visitors enjoying Aruba’s main street and touring the island. The arrival of Celebrity Reflection, Enchanted Princess, and Harmony of the Seas brought over ten thousand tourists on Wednesday. It shows that we are on the right track to recovering our tourism.

It is remarkable to say that on the route of the cruise ships, the Port in Oranjestad is where ships stay the longest for 15 hours. That means visitors spend more time and money on the economy of Aruba.

Harmony of the Seas is a mega cruise that measures 363 meters long, has 16 floors, runs for 30% on environment-friendly LNG, and has a maximum capacity of 6687 passengers.

Minister of Tourism, Dangui Oduber, stated the importance of having prepared and drenched the Port in time awaiting the arrival of the Mega Cruise ships. The Aruba Port Authority has invested 14 million florins in obtaining the tugboat Colorado to assist these Mega Cruise Ships when entering the Port. They also invested 1.6 million florins in the drenching of the Port up to 100 meters deep to gain 12 to 13 meters of additional depth.
