(Oranjestad)—We recently have been made aware that visitors are still being scammed out of their dozens or even hundreds of dollar for an ED-card.
In July 2024, the Aruban government implemented a sustainability fee for all visitors of the island, which include a $20 contribution for the improvement, updating and maintenance of the waste water plant, RWZI.
This fee is paid once every year and is exclusively available through the official website www.edcardaruba.aw.
However, it has come to our attention that many visitors are falling for scams online, where they are presented with varios fraudulent websites that sell the ED-card (sometimes looking identical to the official website).
The Aruba Today team cares deeply for every visitor’s experience on the island, so we highly advise to be aware of these scams. ‘Arubaedcard.nl’ and ‘embarkation-aruba.com’ are among the many fraudulent websites still in operation, selling fake ED-cards at exorbitant and inconsistent prices. If you notice a fake website, please report this to authorities.
