(Oranjestad)—Recently we had the pleasure to meet Randy and Esther Fishman, two long-time friends of Aruba from Westfield, Indiana, who have been coming to the island for 30 years. For the first time this year, they brought their entire family with them; their two sons Scott and Matt and their families!

We hung out with Randy and Esther this week, where they told us they’ve been visiting Aruba since 1996. Randy admitted that he was never a believer in time-shares, but on Aruba it works because they actually use it. They’ve made it a tradition to visit twice a year; around Memorial Day and then for two weeks around the holidays. They usually have either one of their sons and their families with them, as it can be difficult to get the whole gang (10 in total) together for vacation twice a year.

But they’re glad they finally got the chance to soak up the Aruban sun with their two boys and their grandchildren.

The family used to go to Puerto Rico for a while, but noticed over the years how the weather got worse. “Puerto Rico became like Miami. It was rain. You always could count on rain,” Randy said jokingly. After being recommended to visit Aruba, they never looked back. Now, 30 years later, they still love the Aruban weather. “You can’t complain.”

Over the years they made many friends on the island, and would even spend holidays and birthdays with them. “We’ve made the best friends here,” says Esther.

Randy and Esther are already looking forward to their next visit—sometime in December this year!

Thank you to the Fishman family for loving our tiny home as much as we do! The Aruba Today team would like to give a shout out to Randy and Esther, as well as Scott, Amanda, and their two boys Leo and Simon. A shout out also goes out to Matt and Jennifer and their children Jamie and McKenzie!
