KLM Aruba Marathon: Covid-19 proof approved race

The KLM Aruba Marathon has been given green light by the Aruban authorities for a Covid-19 proof approved race on June 5th and June 6th 2021. Participants need Proof of a negative test or complete vaccination.

Here are the guidelines for the race

How to collect your start number and enter the race:

Wearing a face mask is mandatory and only participants allowed, no friends and family

You present evidence of your COVID-19 vaccination (with proof of full vaccination dated at least one week prior to the event = second shot one week before race date

0R, you present a negative PCR COVID-19 test dated 72 hours before the even OR as third option we offer a free PCR test. If the result, in 15 minutes, is negative, you will be given access to the race, if the result is positive, the Covid-19 rules of Aruba will come into effect.

On top of the above procedure a running protocol is in effect:

To avoid crowds:

– 5km race is rescheduled to Saturday June 5th, 2021

– 10km, Half and Full Marathon stay on Sunday June 6th

– Race packet pick-up period extended

– Social distance always!

– Face mask and start number mandatory in start area

– Face mask mandatory during race packet pick up

– You can only pick up your own start number

– Pasta party will be pasta diner

– No public

– No After party or celebration party

To avoid crowds the Race Packet period pickup extended:

International Participants, who are fully vaccinated or have an accurate PCR test, negative result.

Thursday June 3rd and Friday June 4th from 08:00 am- 06:00 pm and Saturday June 5th from 08:00 am – 12:30 pm. Late arrivals on appointment.

Location: Parking Hilton Aruba Caribbean Resort, only entrance via the service road in between Hilton and Barceló

Aruba residents Fully Vaccinated

(second shot one week before the race) or with an accurate PCR test/ negative result)

When? Only on Thursday June 3rd and Friday June 4th, 08:00 am – 06:00 pm

Aruban residents, 18 years and older, who are not Fully Vaccinated (second shot one week before the Race) we offer a FREE fast Covid-19 Test

After a negative result, we hand you the start number, T-shirt and additional orders.

No Public allowed

Public is not allowed at the start and finish. It is not allowed to wait for each other at the finish. Meet afterwards at home, at your hotel, at your car- anywhere, but not near the start and finish area! Avoid crowd at all times. Via our KLM Aruba Marathon App, available in the app store and google play you can follow family and friends online. NEW Start times

In the past all distances started on the same day and all participants would finish approximately at the same time. This Covid-19 Proof Approved Race is divided over 2 days and because of the different starting times runners will not finish at the same time.

5km Runners:

Start 5:00 pm (Est. Finish time 5:30 pm)

5km WalkersStart 6:00 pm (Est. Finish time 7:00 pm)

Sunday June 6th

Full Marathon

Start 3:30 am (Est. Finish time 7:30 am max 9:30 am)

Time cut off: runners have six hours to complete the course

Half Marathon

Start 4:30 am (Est. Finish time 6:30 am)

10km Runners:

Start 5:45 am (Est. Finish time 6:45 am)

10km Walkers:

Start 6:15 am (Est. Finish time 8:15 am)
