AHATA: Hotel occupancy in May was 30% lower than in 2019

The Aruba Hotel & Tourism Association has released the most recent hotel performance results, which shows that hotel occupancy reached 56.3% in May of 2021.

MAY 2021:

  • Occupancy: The occupancy rate was 56.3%, which is 30% lower than in May of 2019.
  • ADR: The average daily rate (for occupied rooms) was $232.89, which is an increase of 3.4% compared to 2019. May was the first month of 2021 that Aruba experienced an increase in ADR.
  • RevPAR: The revenue per available room achieved was $131.16; 28% lower than 2019.

AVERAGE OF FIRST 5 MONTHS OF THE YEAR:

  • Average occupancy from January through May 2021 was 5.3% lower than in 2020 and 53.9% lower than in 2019.
  • RevPAR was 32.4% lower than in 2020 and 61.6% lower than in 2019.
