(Oranjestad)—Aruba is not just some tiny vacation island in the Caribbean. For thousands of people, both local and from abroad, it’s home. The Aruba Today team are committed to offering the best of Aruba has to offer, but we also love hearing from you directly!
We would like to introduce you to Aiyanna Savinelli, a long time visitor who shared with us her love for our tiny rock.

Aiyanna tells us that from a very young age, Aruba has been part of her life. Since she was a little girl, she and her family traveled to the island multiple times each year—now that’s what we call real love!
For Aiyanna, Aruba is not just a familiar travel destination—it’s a place that has shaped her in ways she never expected. She expressed how fortunate she has been to return again and again, not only watching the island evolve over the years, but also growing up with it. For Aiyanna and her family, Aruba has become a very special place.
Second home
As the years passed, she formed friendships with people all over the island—restaurant staff who watched her grow up, hotel employees who remembered her every time she returned, local business owners, and friends who have become like extended family. As Aiyanna put it, every visit feels less like arriving at a destination and more like coming home to people who have become an important part of my life.
Aruba has also become her biggest inspiration. Aruba’s beauty, kindness, and peaceful atmosphere have inspired her love of photography, fashion, travel, and creativity. Today, while balancing school, she’s had the opportunity to model at fashion events in New York, Miami, and the Hamptons, and also work toward becoming an entrepreneur. No matter where those opportunities take her, Aruba remains the place that inspires her most.
Whenever someone asks her where my favorite place in the world is, her answer has always been Aruba not simply because of its beautiful beaches or breathtaking sunsets, but because of its people. The friendships she’s built over the years are what make the island so special to her, she said.
Her hope is that one day she’ll be able to call Aruba home, not just as a visitor, but as a resident who can continue contributing to and celebrating the island that has given her so many wonderful memories and lifelong friendships.
