Starting Monday 7th of March 2022 the construction of the roundabout at Palm Beach will begin.

At the same time, the Department of Public Works will begin with the repair and renovation of various roads in the area, as well as some work related to utilities. This project will be executed in two phases which will have duration of 130 business days and a cost of 1.8 million Aruban florins. The first phase will begin on the 7th of March and culminate half of July, moment in which the second phase will begin to then culminate in the month of September.

For reasons related to the first phase of this project, the road on the west of the cross-section at Palm Beach Plaza will be closed and will be so for approximately 20 weeks. Changes in the route will be indicated with signs and traffic barricades.

Traffic coming from Noord can make a right turn at the Palm Beach Plaza cross-section in the direction of High Rise Hotels and exit at ex-House of Cheng, and to go in the direction of Palm Beach, you can make a left turn at the Palm Beach cross-section. Traffic from Noord on Avenida Nelson O. can make a turn 200 meters after the cross-section at Palm Beach Plaza on the right and onto the sand road. You will have traffic arrows and signs to guide you to the exit behind Wendy’s Noord in the direction to the principal road of Palm Beach to continue down to Oranjestad.

Palm Beach traffic can make a right turn in the direction of Noord, Oranjestad traffic can make a right turn in the direction of Palm Beach and traffic from Oranjestad on Avenida Nelson O. Oduber can continue straight in the direction of Noord.

DOW and KPA ask all drivers and people on our Island to keep these changes in mind and the inconveniences they may cause, as well as extend their gratitude for the understanding and co-operation.
