(Oranjestad)— This week, Ed Feltham and 13 other family members came to Aruba once more to celebrate his 70th birthday. Their connection with the island involves four generations of dedicated visitors, dating back to the 70s. They recently reached out to us to share their story.
The Felthams hail from Long Island, New York. Ed and his wife Carolyn “Gigi” Feltham have been coming to Aruba since 1981 and have made over 40 trips back to the island. Over the years, they’ve visited with their kids Gerilyn, Jaclyn and Ryan, who have now been to Aruba over 20 times and have kept up the tradition in their own family.
Gigi’s connection with Aruba is even longer; her parents began vacationing on the island since the 70s, at the time staying at what was the Aruba Grand. Four generations of Aruban visitors within one family—how cool is that!

For more than 50 years, Aruba has been part of many family vacations and wonderful memories. And the island continues to mean so much for the family. As they’ve put it, Aruba has become a place where they can escape, enjoy the beautiful beaches and spend some quality time together. And by celebrating Pop’s big 70th this time around, the family is creating even more meaningful moments together.
Aruba Today would like to give a big shout out to Ed and Carolyn Feltham, as well as Gerilyn; James; Caroline; Maggie; Timmy; Jaclyn; Matthew; Ryan; Effie; Seraphina and Luca! Thank you for making our home your home too! And happy birthday Pop—we hope you’ve had the most wonderful time!
