Port City will have a significant economic impact on Aruba

ORANJESTAD – On Tuesday, April 18, 2023, Prime Minister Evelyn Wever-Croes attended the official presentation of the Port City at the Aruba Ports Authority (APA).

In her speech, the Prime Minister elaborated on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the economy of Aruba and the actions required to be taken by the Government to protect those severely affected. Aruba is recovering, and investments like the Port City are valuable for the Aruban economy.

With this project, the private sector will invest around $500 million, the most substantial investment in the Aruban infrastructure. The APA will invest around $80 million in public spaces, parking, and recreational areas.

This project will create new economic opportunities and jobs, and generate the foreign exchange needed to fortify Aruba’s economy.

The Prime Minister thanks the Minister of Tourism and Public Health, Dangui Oduber, the Aruba Ports Authority (APA), all stakeholders, and the community their supporting this project.
