(Oranjestad)—One of the most colorful and lively seasons of our island has begun: Carnival 72. This is where our beautiful culture shines, and the great amount of talent across all generations takes center stage.

During this past weekend, several events connected to Carnival 72 took place. Among them were the Calypso & Roadmarch Kids and Teens competitions.

Below is the list of winners from this successful and wonderful evening.

Infant category winners:

Best Costume – Haily Philips

Most Atmosphere – Adeliza Henriquez

Most Popular – Ashandric Richardson

Rookie of the Year – Zaidyen Danker

The Calypso King title went to Ashandric Richardson – Jammer Jr. with “Help Me”, arranged by Michael Odor and composed by Charles Hooker.

The Roadmarch King/Queen title went to Adeliza Henriquez – Queen Fantasy with “Dutch Troopers”, arranged and composed by Harvey “Tools” Agunbero.

Second place for Calypso went to Carl Jr. Roosberg – Galloway Jr. with “In My Dreams”, arranged by Samuel Jack and composed by Carl Roosberg Sr. Second place for Roadmarch went to Zaidyen Danker – Johnny Boy with “Johnny Boy The Instructor”, arranged by Rygel Isabella and composed by Janiro Eisden and Rygel Isabella.

Third place for Roadmarch went to Ashandric Richardson – Jammer Jr. with “Carnaval is a Party”, arranged by Rygel Isabella and composed by Aric Richardson.

Teens category winners:

Best Costume – Reanne Ras

Most Atmosphere – Justin Trenidad

Most Popular – Justin Trenidad

The Calypso Queen title went to Caylee Pietersz – Dancing Cay with “We Calling for Change”, arranged and composed by Dolfi Richardson.

The Roadmarch King title went to Brayden Elisabeth – Stinging B Junior with “Tribe Chief”, arranged and composed by Rygel Isabella together with Janiro Eisden.

Second place for Calypso went to Ivy-Anne Browne – Queen Ivy with “Always Number One”, arranged by Ralph Godet and composed by Marina Hayes. Third place went to Caylee Fraser – Queen C with “You Belong”, arranged and composed by Kenneth Bosnie together with Carol Bruining.

Second place for Roadmarch went to Reanne Ras – Reanne with “What Time Is It”, arranged and composed by Rygel Isabella together with Janiro Eisden, and third place went to Stephanie Quant – Stephanie with “Carnaval Possess Meh”, arranged by Rodney van der Biezen and composed by Maiky “Campo” Oliva.
