For today we received a lovely message from our awesome visitors Mary and Don Alhart.

They wrote to us saying: “Aruba to me is an Orange Trupial! I am not an avid birdwatcher, but I could not help but notice a brightly colored bird at the very top of a palm tree, while relaxing poolside at the Marriott Aruba Surf Club. It was perched at the very top of an antenna-like branch and remained there for several minutes. With the help of friends we went online to confirm both the appearance and the unique sound of the species (I hope we were correct!).

I discovered the Orange Trupial does not make its own nest, instead using an existing abandoned nest. It is much like us, as tourists. We use the “abandoned nests” at the beautiful resorts for our “stays” in Aruba. One happy bird. One happy touris—on One Happy Island!

Thank you for sending us this wonderful message sharing what Aruba means to you with us and our readers!
