For today we received a lovely message from our fellow native Andrina van der Sloot.

She wrote to us saying: “Aruba to me is … mi isla natal! My birth country!

I was born and raised on Aruba, but I’ve been living in The Netherlands for 21 years. The last time we were here for vacation was 8 years ago, when my son turned 2. In June he will be 10 years old. Right there’s the ‘mei-vakantie’ (may vacation) in The Netherlands which is the high season. This is why we are taking an amazing 3-week vacation. At the same time my husband Lodewijk and I are celebrating our “copper wedding” (12.5 year/koperen bruiloft). And after a long time, we are surprising my mother with some wonderful presents on mothers day.

So we are enjoying the warmth, sun, beach (our favorite is Arashi!), and not forgetting all the (touristic) sights like Casibari, Ayo, Donkey Sanctuary, Bushiribana, NaturalBridge, Parke Arikok, etc.”

Thank you for sending us this wonderful message sharing what Aruba means to you with us and our readers!
