Aruba Hotel and Tourism Association (AHATA): Occupancy Forecast is 45%

The Aruba Hotel & Tourism Association has published the latest hotel performance data showing that in September the occupancy dropped by 83%.

SEPTEMBER 2020

Occupancy: The occupancy rate is 13.7% compared to 79.5% a year ago. Hotel occupancy recovered by 17%.

ADR: The average daily rate (for occupied rooms) increased by 8% compared to last year, to $231.46.

RevPAR: The revenue per available room dropped by 81% to $31.65.

2020 FIRST 3 QUARTERS

Occupancy: The year-to-date average occupancy is 68% lower than last year, at 29.1% rate.

RevPAR: The year-to-date revenue per available room, tourism’s primary indicator, dropped by 61% to $93.53

AHATA’s Timeshare properties are experiencing a higher occupancy than the hotels during the recovery of tourism. In September the average occupancy was 26%, and the forecast for October is 38%.
