ORANJESTAD — Aruba’s Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort has received another international distinction, winning the award for Best Service in North America (USA & The Caribbean) at the 2027 CondĂ© Nast Johansens Awards for Excellence.
Founder and owner Sir Ewald Biemans personally accepted the award during a ceremony held on November 2 at Montcalm Mayfair in London, where hospitality professionals gathered to recognize excellence in luxury tourism.
The Condé Nast Johansens Awards for Excellence recognize outstanding hotels, resorts and spas worldwide. Winners are selected through a combination of guest feedback, online voting and assessments by experienced hospitality experts.
Located on Eagle Beach, Bucuti & Tara has built an international reputation as an adults-only luxury resort specializing in romantic getaways and personalized service. The property has received numerous distinctions, including nine consecutive years of recognition in CondĂ© Nast Traveler’s Readers’ Choice Awards.
“We are deeply honored to receive this recognition from CondĂ© Nast Johansens,” Biemans stated. He described the award as a tribute to the resort’s employees, whose dedication and personal attention contribute to the guest experience.
The recognition comes as Bucuti & Tara undergoes further development under Managing Director Crescenzia Biemans, granddaughter of the resort’s founder.
Recent investments include renovations and modernization of guest accommodations, introducing contemporary designs and improved comfort. The resort has also expanded its culinary offerings with Terra by Jeremy Ford, a restaurant associated with the acclaimed American chef.
Wellness is another growing priority. The resort now offers up to five daily activities, including yoga, meditation and fitness, supported by a dedicated Wellness Concierge.
Beyond luxury hospitality, Bucuti & Tara has received international recognition for its environmental initiatives. In 2018, it became the Caribbean’s first Certified CarbonNeutral resort and subsequently received a United Nations Global Climate Action Award.
In April 2026, Ewald Biemans was appointed Knight of the Order of Orange-Nassau by King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands, recognizing his contributions to Aruba, sustainable tourism and society.
The latest award adds to the resort’s international achievements and highlights Aruba’s presence in the competitive luxury hospitality market.
