For the past twelve years comedian Ray Ellin, known as “Aruba Ray,” has been putting together standup comedy shows in Aruba featuring top American standup comics from Netflix, America’s Got Talent, HBO and Comedy Central.

The shows are extremely popular in Aruba, and have been named by TripAdvisor as Number One in three categories including “Best Nightlife Activity” and “Best Show.”

Last month Ellin received what he referred to as “One of the coolest emails of my life.” And it had nothing to do with comedy. “I found out that a fan of the comedy club named their racehorse after me. I was like WOW. That is really awesome.”

Indeed, horse owner and trainer Missy Beeman Essig told Ellin “When I was trying to come up with a name for my horse, I wanted something with Aruba in it, and we love your club. It stuck.”

And the other day, the two year old filly won her race at Hoosier Park in Indiana. Ellin was over the moon. “A friend of mine texted me asking ‘Do you have a horse?? Because I just saw a race, and a horse named Aruba Ray just won.’”

Ellin told him “Of course Aruba Ray won! The horse is much prettier and faster than I am. I hope you bet on her.”

Ellin is a huge animal lover. In addition to doing his popular shows, Ray has supported many causes in Aruba, including serving as a board member of the One Love Foundation, which helps the dogs and cats of Aruba.

In the past year, Ellin helped raise over $60,000 for One Love with comedy events in both Aruba and NYC.

And for many years, he has also led book drives for Aruban students.

Aruba Ray’s Comedy is the same quality show you would find at a top comedy club in NYC. The comedians are truly some of the best from the United States.

Ellin hosts and produces the shows. He is also the host of the podcast “Wild Nights on the Prairie.” He produced a feature film coming out later this year called “No Longer, Not Yet.”

He also executive produced the Comedy Central television show “This Week at the Cellar,” and hosted the popular talk show “Late Net,” and hosted the television shows “The Movie Loft,” “Brain Fuel,” and “New York Now.” He also produced and directed the very successful film “The Latin Legends of Comedy,” distributed by 20th Century Fox.

Aruba Ray’s is located in Eagle Beach, across from Superfood, at the Eagle Aruba Resort.
