PALM BEACH – The Wine Extravaganza hosted by the Radisson Aruba Resort Casino & Spa in collaboration with Romar Trading hosted a spectacular gala event in the Grand Caribbean Ballroom. The event, says wine specialist Clive Faustin, is the first of its kind and while this year famed Chilean Concha Y Toro winery was featured, next year as many as fifteen wineries from around the globe, have already made their reservations. The highlight of the Aruba Wine Extravaganza was the Marques Wine Dinner guided by wine-maker Alejandra Vallejo, starring the cuisine of the resort’s culinary team with Executive Chef Hector Espinoza at the helm. Dinner featured a Mesclun Mix of Baby Greens with Walnuts, Peas, Cherry Tomatoes, Pepper Jack Cheese and a Raspberry paired with Terrunyo, 2007 Sauvignon Blanc, a bright, greenish-yellow wine with herbs, berries and mineral complexity, which contributes to a fresh, juicy taste. The salad was followed by Chilean Sea Bass topped with Balsamic Whole Grain Mustard, Green Herb Pesto, Oven Roasted Tomatoes, Bermuda Onion Rings and Fried Polenta paired with Marques de Casa Concha 2007 Chardonnay, presenting a clean and bright wine including a rich, fruity and nutty taste. The main course delivered Tenderloin Wrapped in Bacon, in a light Peppercorn Sauce, Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Asparagus Points, paired with Marques de Casa Concha Cabernet Sauvignon, a smooth, almost silky wine, whose full body paired excellently with the flavorful beef. Pastry Chef Alejandro concocted Dessert Delice, an almond-biscuit basket filled with decadent sweet mousse and fresh berries that was escorted by Late Harvest Sauvignon Blanc Concha Y Toro. Dinner was entertained by musician Carlos Bislip on his jazz xylophone.Pictured here Aruba’s wine aficionados broadening their wine experience at the Radisson Aruba Resort Casino & Spa, Grand Caribbean Ballroom.

DE PALM ISLAND - This past Saturday, the cast of the island's hottest show cooled off for a day on De Palm Island. The outing was well-earned for the group which has been working hard to bring Aruba its most spectacular live stage production yet in the form of D'Licious-a two hour music and dance extravaganza presented in a cabaret-style venue called Zissles, located at Paseo Herencia Mall. The day on De Palm Island proved to be a great team-builder for the cast who arrived in July from Europe. All the performers are thrilled with the opportunity to live and work on Aruba, and have whole-heartedly embraced the local community, and have made a great effort to explore the island and meet the people in between their demanding rehearsal and performance schedules.
The day on De Palm Island was filled with fun, and everyone took advantage of all the activities offered, including snorkeling with the famous blue parrot fish, beach volleyball, and the group's favorite adventure-the banana boat ride! The group stayed well-nourished throughout the day with a bountiful culinary buffet and open bar. Want to see the cast of D'Licious live, up close and personal? They perform nightly (Sunday through Friday) at Zissles, where a gourmet three-course dinner is also enjoyed during the show. Visit the website at www.zissles.com for more information and tickets.
