ORANJESTAD – ‘Eat Local Food Truck Festival’ is on for coming weekend. In the heart of Oranjestad you can enjoy local ambiance and local food from a variety of food trucks and entertainment. Don’t miss out on this event on Friday and Saturday night.

Plaza Daniel Leo and surroundings will be all about ‘Aruban Vibes’ these nights. This is a great opportunity to taste the typical Aruban and Caribbean Street Food. After a successful first try-out of this festival last year, it goes even bigger this year with more than ten Food Trucks and other food offerings. The participants at the Eat Local Food Truck Festival are: Truck di Piet, Poffertjes van Pofferdorie, Nos Local Snack Truck, El Mexicano, Skina Crioyo Truck, The Little One/Hollywood Smoke House, Ice Cream Truck, Eataly, Candela, Burger Joint, Taki, D’abaru, E Sushi Shap, Happy Appy’s Shoarma & Patat, Robert’s Smoke Pit and Gellatisimo. For drinks they present: Aged Wine Bar and Craft Beer Lovers.

Besides the joy of eating and drinking, the festival offers live entertainment. You can enjoy the beats of Jeremy Bonnariba, Sergio & The Short Cuts, Jersy Sofia, Xavi & Rhea, Lily Rodgers and Mirugia de Cuba. For the little ones there is an interactive Kids Corner in cooperation with the University of Aruba. The profits of this will go to the Blood Bank Aruba. For the popular local traditional game Domino there is a separate area where visitors can play this game at leisure or even in competitions. Aruhiba offers the lovers of a good Cigar a nice selection. To prevent waiting lines and make the nights run as smooth as possible, one needs to purchase tokens to buy food and drinks. The tokens can be bought at forehand at Road Side Café (at Linear Park) from 5 PM on at Friday.

Each token costs Florin 2, 50. Naturally they can also be bought at the festival itself, either cash or with debit card. The entrance to the festival is free.Due to the ‘Eat Local Food Truck Festival’ some streets close to Plaza Daniel Leo will be (partly)closed at April 27 and 28. These are: Schelpstraat / Emmastraat / Klipstraat and Havenstraat. Also Saturday Arutram will not be able to drive the tram because of the festivals preparations. You are all invited to this great celebration of our King’s birthday-weekend!
